Mario Bellini

He received the Golden Compass Award eight times and 25 of his works are in the permanent design collection of the New York MoMA, which dedicated to him a personal retrospective in 1987.

Mario Bellini, a Royal Honorary Designer of RDI since 1991, has focused primarily on architecture since the 1980s. He has designed iconic buildings such as the Portello Trade Fair district in Milan, the Louvre's Islamic Art Department, the Tokyo Design Centre, and Milan’s largest convention center. His recent projects include the New Polytechnic School of Genoa and cultural developments in China and the Gulf.

Bellini also curated exhibitions and was editor of Domus magazine (1985-1991). His career was celebrated with the Gold Medal from the Milan Triennale, including a retrospective exhibition in Moscow in 2019.
